This design was featured on the cover of Masters Beadweaving. The urchin bead uses right angle weave and different bead sizes to achieve it’s undulating texture. The embellishment on the spine helps to create the shape and contribute to the sturdiness of the bead. You just may be surprised by the technique which achieves this highly textural bead. Four different urchin beads come together in a lariat which snaps around your neck to keep the interest at your neckline. The rubber armature used for the necklace is covered in netting.

This is the colorway featured on the cover of Masters Beadweaving. Different size seed beads in aqua, olive and bronze make up the beads surface and an olivine ab2x crystal sets off each of the spines. The netted necklace is done in bronze.

A deep rich matte brown is a prominent color in this necklace, accented by a turquoise ab2x spine crystal. A multi colored metallic bead coordinates the urchin beads with the netted necklace.

A matte green and shiny purple iris bead set to a background of bronze make this a very wearable color combination. The spine bead in this one is a size 8 seed, less sparkle for those who like it that way.

Done in beautiful matte metallic’s and shiny bronze the spines on this piece are done in seed beads for a more subdued look.
