| Whimsical Felted Wallet | ||||
| Cast on and create a darling
wallet adding whimsical touches as you knit. A Turkish cast on will
be taught as well as how to use two circular needles to create a seamless
piece. Many different options for adding whimsy to your piece will
be taught including bobbles, two color knitting and a picot cast off.
Using the felting properties of natural fibers you will wash your
finished knitting in your home washing machine and create a durable
felted wallet. The only pre-requisite is knowing how to knit! Since
this piece is created in the round, you will only use a knit stitch
and a simple increase.
Day 1: A seamless cast on and two circular needle tubular knitting method will be taught to create the wallet. A handout will include several different options for adding decorative touches to the piece . Two different methods of cast off will be taught to end off the top of the piece. We will finish class with a discussion of felting techniques so the student can go home and feel confident in their ability to felt their piece with success.
